Finnish Names:: What is an Open Campfire Hut? Many cities build whats called in Finnish "Keittokatos." This translates to “Cooking Shelter” or “Kitchen canopy" in Finnish. We call them open campfire huts.fi. There are many different varieties, but the basic idea is there is there is an outdoor grill but it is covered with a roof. But the building is usually not fully enclosed, it is "open" to the weather. Most will have picnic benches inside where you can sit and enjoy a meal. Some will have firewood, axe and saw. To find these on huts.fi use the advanced filter called “Type of Hut” select “Open Campfire Hut.” To read more about the types of huts in Finland go here: https://www.huts.fi/page/types-of-huts-in-finland
